MFJ 1024 SWL outdoor active antennas are amplified antennas covering continuous frequencies from 50 kHz to 30 MHz. The outdoor unit consists of 54 inches telescopic whip and the amplifier module, which measures 3 in x 4 in x 4 in It is connected to the indoor control unit by an included 50 ft RG-58 coaxial cable with a molded PL-259 connector.
The desktop control unit measures 6 in x 2 in x 5 in and features a 20 dB attenuator and gain control to prevent receiver overload. A built-in receiver switch selects either of two receivers and an antenna switch permits selection of an auxiliary non-amplified antenna. The auxiliary antenna input jack and receiver jacks are RCA-type. A red LED indicates that the power is on.
The active antenna unit is weatherized for prolonged outdoor use. It may be attached to a mast or pole using the supplied “U” bolts. If desired, the active antenna unit may also be attached to a flat vertical surface, such as a wall or fence post.
